Syllabus updates
Cambridge University has modernised the subject content with themes of the environment and sustainability, which are now embedded within topics. We have added new content on economics and the environment, and changes in globalisation. We have also removed some content. We have made the wording of the subject content and assessment objectives clearer and more concise. We have changed the weightings of the assessment objectives, with greater emphasis on knowledge and understanding, and on economic analysis. We have changed the number of marks and the exam durations, with Paper 1 increased, and Paper 2 decreased. The assessment methods have not changed. For full details of the changes, please see the 2027–2029 syllabus above.
